Hey, Tribe! There are quite a few new tribe members so I thought this would be a good time to share a little about who I am and what you can expect here☺️ 📸: @d2dfocus

My name is Katryce, I’m 34 years old and I’m a mom of two boys☺️ I am very transparent and open with certain aspects of my life because I feel it’s important to shed light on the highs and lows of motherhood instead of just glamorizing society’s idea of what a “perfect” mom should be.
.
I’m on joke time 98% of the time. Laughter is therapeutic so I try to integrate humor into almost everything I do 😬 I also curse a lot but that’s because I’m a chef and curse words add seasoning to my sentences🤷🏽‍♀️
.
Speaking of me being a chef, I share many of my family’s favorite recipes here on the page and I even have a cookbook, Sear. Whip. Drizzle.: A Collection of Recipes Moms Will Love. Because my kids’ tastebuds are ever changing, I always have to come up with new recipes that’ll peak their interest. If they love it, I’ll share. If they don’t- I’ll never speak of it😂
.
My youngest son is autistic and I share a lot about his journey here on the page but in more detail on my blog. He has grown and progressed tremendously and I share what tools and resources I use to help him reach his milestones.
.
I love to learn and use my hands so I do a lot of DIY’ing and love to share it with the tribe. I love power tools so I’m always building something and I love my glue gun so I’m always crafting ☺️
.
Red wine is my love language. That’s all I have to say about that.
.
Once your join the tribe, you’re my home girl. I will talk to you just like I do my sisters and friends. Now while I do try to connect and respond to as many mommas as I can each day, sometimes I can’t get back to everyone because #momlife 🙈 Please know I’m not ignoring you😩
.
Last but certainly not least, we are a community of moms that uplift and support one another. We do not judge each other. We may not agree with everyone’s parenting styles but we respect one another. You’ll see on #mommatalkmonday in my stories that we are a wild bunch 😂 And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love it here & I hope you will too❤️

Happy Tuesday, Tribe! Since posting Ashton’s haircut video on Thursday, I’ve received a ton of DM’s from mommas with children who have developmental delays or autism. Many of them were asking about Ashton’s story, progress and what we did to get him where he’s at.

Let me start out by saying that I 100% know how you feel right now. Overwhelmed, scared and anxious (just to name a few of the emotions😢). Trust me- I was a hot ass mess the first few months. But God made you your baby’s momma cause he knew you would give that child the brightest future possible. So, even though you are trying to figure out what to do and where the heck to start, just know that you got this!🙌🏽

I am trying to respond to as many DM’s as possible, but just in case I miss you, almost everything I’ve implemented and incorporated into Ashton’s daily routine is outlined on my website. Sometimes the best dishes have the simplest ingredients. Like my Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake. It’s everything you’d want in a potato dish- creamy, gooey and seasoned to perfection. Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake:
•1 ½ pounds small red potatoes (washed)
•12 ounces of sour cream
•2 cups Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
•2 tablespoons butter (diced into 8 chunks)
•2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
•Salt, Pepper and Paprika
.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Season water with salt.
2. Cut your red potatoes into quarters and cook in boiling water until potatoes become tender (approximately 10 - 12 minutes). Strain and set aside.
3. Mix ranch, 1 ½ cups cheese, sour cream and black pepper in a small bowl. Add potatoes to the mixture and gently mix until the potatoes are fully coated.
4. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter or oil. Pour the potato mixture into the baking dish.
5. Place butter cubes throughout the dish and top with remaining cheese.
6. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes until butter is melted and cheese is browned and bubbly.

In two weeks I turn 34 and my life has completely changed from this time last year. Mentally, spiritually and emotionally I’ve evolved so much. I’ve learned to set boundaries, never to settle for less and, most importantly, I know my damn worth🙌🏽 Thanks to therapy, self love and the unwavering support from my family and friends, I am not only moving forward towards growth, I’m sprinting to that biiihhh😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️

About 4 years ago, I started asking myself “would 14 year old Katryce be proud of you?”. And for a while, I couldn’t honestly answer that question. I mean, I knew she would be proud of my kids but I wasn’t that confident in if she would be proud of me. So, I stopped asking.

Last week the same question popped in my head. “Would 14 year old Katryce be proud of you?”. And for the first time, I can honestly say that I think she would not only be proud of me, but she would be excited about the future. And the fact that I can answer that question so confidently is the best f$&king feeling in the entire world. Cause that means that I’m not only proud of my damn self but I’m finally letting go of my own fears and insecurities to get to my best self. I. Love. It. Here. ❤️

Can we just take a moment to talk about sliding into DMs?
.
Two and a half years ago I met @iamdinorah while she was with one of her amazing clients. At that point I had about 8k followers and was still trying to figure out this whole influencer thing and where I fit in. As I’ve mentioned before, when I meet people I see colors around them. She was golden all around. And that’s the best color. Anyway, we quickly said hello and kept it moving. But at that very moment, I knew that one day, I would also be one of her amazing clients.
.
A couple months later, when I grew to around 10k, I decided to shoot my shot. Even though her client roster had followings in the millions, I just knew God was telling me that she was gonna manage me one day. I sent her a DM outlining what I had to offer and how I just knew we were supposed to work together. She was very kind and sweet but basically told me I needed to get my weight up before we could work together 😂
.
But that didn’t stop me🤷🏽‍♀️😂 I sent her ass a DM every few months showing her my progress and the things I had achieved. Still, I was met with a kind and sweet “it’s not time”. I legitimately felt like Urkle and she was Laura😂😂
.
So in December, when my cookbook came out, I sent her ANOTHER DM (I know. I was really looking creep life at this point) saying I wanted to send her a copy of the cookbook. She said she would love one, I sent her the book, prayed on it and left it to God. A couple weeks later I was shocked to see an email from Dinorah saying she wanted to meet to discuss possible management! *swish🏀* 😂🙌🏽
.
We’ve been working together for 9 months now and not only is she a great manager, she’s a great friend and human overall. Dinorah I told you I would wear your ass down!!! 😂😂😂😂 So happy to be a part of the @bodega7_ family ❤️
.
